I distinctly recall some of the control scheme used in the GameCube remake The Twin Snakes (Right shoulder button equips/unequips weapon, the X/top button being the Action button.), but it's been quite some time since I've played it.
I kinda need help with controller mapping as I have trouble looking up what were the original intended controls (the default layout) in the V's fix github. I was hoping the Steam controller option would help but it doesn't entirely solve the issue. That said, I've heard that there are some people who purportedly ported the HD assets from the MGS2 remasters and were able to use it in-game, though I'm not sure if those had been released yet or is still in testing.Īlso of note, I'll be using my Switch/Wii U Pro controllers mainly to play, which bring's some issues with V's fix: It works well with native Xbox controllers, but there's no way to remap the X/Y A/B actions to that they could be switched. Supposedly, because apparently there are just some issues with the port that are baked-in, such as particular switches from 30fps to 60fps and odd post processing around Snake's silhouette that's likely to have been done to give the impression of anti-aliasing for the original PS2 game. So I recently got MGS2 on GOG, as I've never played this game before, and I've heard of V's fix which is a one-and-done patch that supposedly solves all the issues of MGS2's Substance's PC port.
